In an unexpected twist just a dozen days before Watches & Wonders 2024, Tudor surprised us with their latest creation, the Tudor Black Bay Chrono “Pink”, with a vibrant pink dial. I’m honestly not too sure what to think of this but I guess the limited nature of the watch will probably pull hardcore collectors in. Truthfully, I still think the Black Bay Chronograph line is significantly underrated. At the very least, I see this as a sign that Tudor still believes in the collection enough to continue experimenting with it. I can get behind that.

Crafted in collaboration with Jay Chou, this timepiece celebrates the supposedly adventurous spirit of Tudor’s ambassadors, including the likes of David Beckham. Both Chou, the Taiwanese musician, and Beckham, the renowned soccer star and owner of the Inter Miami Club, share a passion for pink … I guess? Tudor also let us know that, of course, only a limited number of these watches will be produced.

Sticking to that Black Bay look we all know, the Black Bay Chrono model features the distinctive “snowflake” hands, a hallmark of Tudor’s dive watches since 1969. These hands, tuned for optimal readability, grace the pink dial alongside two black sub-dials, offering a fresh take on the beloved panda-style design. The watch is housed in a 41mm steel case, boasting the satin-brushed and polished surfaces, beveled lugs, and Tudor rose-signed crown characteristic of the Black Bay collection. On top of that, the pushers draw inspiration from Tudor’s first-generation chronographs, adding to the watch’s vintage charm.

Underneath the hood lies the COSC-certified Caliber MT5813. This is a self-winding chronograph movement with a column-wheel mechanism and vertical clutch, co-developed with Breitling. With a power reserve of 70 hours and a silicon balance spring, this movement ensures precision and reliability.

Completing the package is a 5-link stainless steel bracelet with Tudor’s “T-fit” rapid adjustment clasp. That clasp is awesome and I’ll just come out and say it. This nifty system, requiring no tools, offers wearers the flexibility to adjust the bracelet length by up to 8mm in five positions, ensuring a perfect fit.

Priced at $5,650, the Black Bay Chrono “Pink” is a bold statement piece that combines Tudor’s heritage with contemporary flair, destined to capture the attention of watch enthusiasts and collectors alike. Find out more on the brand’s official site.
