Basel World 2018 is over, everybody – the dust has settled and the Two Broke Watch Snobs have just one question… did the event live up to the hyperbole (or is life just as meaningless as it was before more Blackbays were rammed down our gullets)? Mike and Kaz take a look at releases from this year’s event – including Tudor, Sinn, Nomos, and more. Plus the guys shed light on some news that weirdly enough no one seemed to care about (cough Citizen cough….cough, seriously, people…Citizen). Tune in, sit back, and enjoy! 🙂
Also, Mike and Kaz both had super stressful weeks and as a result both fell back on watches that simply make them happy for this week’s wristcheck… Both are iconic divers and both tend to get forgotten in the greater deluge of dive watch over-saturation. 0_o

Kaz has been collecting watches since 2015, but he’s been fascinated by product design, the Collector’s psychology, and brand marketing his whole life. While sharing the same strong fondness for all things horologically-affordable as Mike (his TBWS partner in crime), Kaz’s collection niche is also focused on vintage Soviet watches as well as watches that feature a unique, but well-designed quirk or visual hook.
You like snowflakes!? Well we put snowflakes on your snowflakes with some snowflakes!
Haha exactly
Like your reviews and love watches – but even though you advise us of bad language – it’s too much for me. Sorry, would love to listen to your blog if it was cleaned up and a just a little more professional..
Hey, Phil:
Kaz here – totally understand about the language, man. The show is formatted in a way to really promote conversation that’s organic between me and Mike, which also means we’re going to talk with each other in a way that’s very casual (hence the cursing and crude horology insights). That’s why we have the intro-disclaimer while also trying to brand the podcast as “wrist watch bar-talk.” That said, I 100% agree that our approach isn’t for everyone, so I totally hear what you’re saying.
But I really appreciate you giving the show a shot and taking the time to let us know your feedback, man – that seriously means the world to us because Mike and I are super thankful for anyone willing to try the show out.
Thanks again, Phil!
