The Two Broke Watch Snobs 3k Follower Giveaway is on! Check out this week’s episode for all the details on how to enter… oh, and which watch they’re giving away. 🙂

Mike’s Sisyphean struggle to find a “dressy watch” that suits him is still going strong. The guys also have a spur-of-the-moment talk about the discontinuation of the famous and dearly beloved Seiko Orange Monster. Also, are you a bond villain? Then we’d love to have you contribute to the site!

Then Mike and Kaz get down and dirty dishing out their thoughts on the newly released Apple Watch Series 3. They breakdown some important tech details but can’t quite wrap their heads around Apple’s take on marketing the watch – it’s an odd one. 0_o

  1. Hey guys!

Long time listener, first time commenter (and I’m doing it on here instead of Instagram because I don’t have an account there and don’t feel like getting one)

I think I actually did a bit of an unintentional watchfast the past couple months. I’m a med student doing hospital rotations right now and don’t want to put my nicer watches in an environment that may see a lot of EM radiation and MRI magnets (and of course, bodily fluids and other things), so I’ve been wearing a Casio A168W every day for the past couple months during the day (bought it specifically as a replaceable watch to wear only in the hospital). Wore my SKX, Nighthawk, Pro Diver, Amphibia, etc on nights and weekends though, so not sure if that’d be considered a true watchfast, but I’ve been wearing the A168W for an average of 8 hours a day 5 days a week for the past couple months. It’s very practical. Cheap/replaceable, has day and date indicators making filling out forms very easy, has digital 24 hour time which is nice because it’s what most hospitals use, and a timing function so I can make sure my lunch breaks don’t run too long. But I was looking at it the other day at the end of a long ER shift, and I’m just getting so sick of it. Totally understanding Kaz’s stairwell breakdown now. Just bought a quartz Invicta Speedway 9223 last night to have some variety…or maybe even to wear with the Casio in a Schwartzkopf or Castro way. It’s a Rolex Daytona homage with a useless tachymeter because the central seconds is the watch seconds and the chronograph seconds is a small subdial. I’m a terrible person, I know, but it was hugely discounted, it looks good, it’s quartz so won’t be affected by the strong magnets and radiation in hospitals, has a 24-hr subdial for 24-hr time, has a chronograph for keeping track of my breaks, and because I didn’t want a Weekender or Duro or something and needed something that looked nice enough to be able to wear with a shirt and tie. It’ll probably get here next week, so I’ll be stuck with the A168W for a few more days. Can’t wait to get some variety.
