Kaz has been collecting watches since 2015, but he’s been fascinated by product design, the Collector’s psychology, and brand marketing his whole life. While sharing the same strong fondness for all things horologically-affordable as Mike (his TBWS partner in crime), Kaz’s collection niche is also focused on vintage Soviet watches as well as watches that feature a unique, but well-designed quirk or visual hook.
Don’t let the Pro Diver haters get you down! I’ve had mine attached to my ski patrol vest for 4 seasons of impacts, super cold weather, and garage storage all summer. Still works awesome!

This episode really made me think about the parallels between watch enthusiasts and gun enthusiasts. When you mention the guilt of appreciating these items used by likely very nefarious individuals, i actually thought it was very innocent considering the utility of a watch compared to say, a Mauser rifle.
Sure tools of death and destruction one way or another blah blah blah but it doesn’t take away from the engineering and as you guys appreciate just as much, the history and stories that the memorabilia tell.
Keep up the great discussions!
Re: your discussion of IWC, did you notice that one of their pilots watches is named after an Allied fighter plane (Spitfire) rather than a Messerschmidt or Focke Wolfe?
