For years now, I’ve been one of those people who pays way too much attention to what’s on an actor’s wrist during a movie or show. With the Jack Ryan series on Amazon, it was no different. John Krasinski made for such a convincing Ryan that I found myself pausing frames to identify the Hamilton Khaki Field Chrono and the Vortic Military Edition he wore throughout the show’s run. So when Citizen announced that their Citizen ATTESA CC4055-65E would be the watch on Krasinski’s wrist for the upcoming full-length feature film, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War, I was stoked. Citizen is one of my favorite brands, and seeing them step into this kind of high-profile placement is an interesting move.

The timing here is great. Citizen is celebrating 50 years of Eco-Drive technology in 2026, and instead of going the heritage route with the anniversary, they’re leaning into the ATTESA line as a modern, mission-ready tool watch. The ATTESA collection has long been a favorite among Citizen enthusiasts for its combination of Super Titanium construction and satellite-controlled timekeeping. It sits comfortably in a territory that most people outside the Citizen community don’t really associate with the brand. That’s part of what makes this collaboration interesting.

The CC4055-65E itself comes in a 44.6mm black DLC Super Titanium case and bracelet with a double-domed sapphire crystal. According to Citizen, Super Titanium offers five times the surface hardness of conventional stainless steel while keeping the weight down to just 111 grams. The watch runs the F950 Eco-Drive movement with satellite GPS timekeeping, which can sync a time signal in as little as three seconds. You also get world time across 27 cities and 40 time zones, a 1/20 second chronograph that measures up to 24 hours, dual time, a perpetual calendar, and 100 meters of water resistance. It’s a pretty loaded spec sheet for $2,195.

What stands out to me about this particular placement is how well it aligns with the character. Jack Ryan was never a gadget guy in the Bond or Bourne mold. He’s an analyst who happens to end up in dangerous situations, and his tools tend to reflect competence over flash. The ATTESA fits that profile. It’s a serious watch with real functionality, but it doesn’t scream for attention. I’ve heard a lot about how passionate the ATTESA community is, and I think this kind of visibility might open some eyes to a side of Citizen that doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves.

At first glance, the 44.6mm sizing does give me pause. That’s a lot of watch, even by modern standards. Still, I’m hoping the titanium construction and the DLC finishing help it wear smaller and more comfortably than the numbers suggest. We’re doing our best to get one in for a proper hands-on review, because that’s really the only way to know.

Jack Ryan is a character I’ve been intrigued by since I was a kid. There’s something about the CIA analyst who keeps getting pulled into situations way above his pay grade that always resonated with me, and John Krasinski’s portrayal nailed it from the moment the Amazon series debuted in 2018. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War premieres on Prime Video on May 20th, and part of me is just so ready to see how the watch shows up on screen. Whether this ends up being a meaningful moment for the ATTESA line or simply a well-placed product tie-in is something we’ll have to wait and see. I’m excited either way.
