It finally happened! A GMT is now part of the Pelagos family. Tudor’s new Pelagos FXD GMT expands the brand’s Pelagos line with an impressive nod to both past military collaborations and serious modern-day utility. Following in the path of Tudor’s Commando Hubert collab with France’s elite Naval Special Forces, this watch pulls together high-spec features into a GMT model ready for rugged conditions.
The 42mm case is crafted in Grade 2 titanium with fixed lug bars for an extra level of robustness. At 12.7mm thick with a lug-to-lug span of 52mm, it carries the confident heft that characterizes the Pelagos family. The details pay tribute to its original intended use: a matte black dial with beige Super-LumiNova indices that emit blue luminescence, while the GMT hand’s orange glow switches to green on a matching titanium bi-directional bezel with a ceramic insert.
Under the hood, the Manufacture Caliber MT5652-U brings 65 hours of power reserve and a METAS certification, marking Tudor’s first official pairing of METAS and a GMT movement. This movement also features an independently jumping GMT hand for intuitive time zone tracking. A one-piece fabric strap in “flight-suit green,” a titanium buckle, and a secondary removable fabric keeper stamped with the French Naval Aviation insignia complete the look, letting it wear its military roots on the wrist.
With the French Navy “M.N.24” engraving on the caseback, Tudor’s newest Pelagos might be one of the most discussed watches in recent years. People are going to go nuts over this thing. Between its military-inspired aesthetic, Grade 2 titanium case, and tool watch functionality, it’s expected to make waves across the enthusiast community. Set to retail at $4,625, the Pelagos FXD GMT “Zulu Time” is positioned to capture collectors’ attention globally—not only as a tacti-cool accessory but as a watch that pays homage to serious field equipment, without the limit of being a limited edition.
We’re looking forward to seeing the watch community’s take on Tudor’s fresh angle with the Pelagos FXD GMT. I think many would have preferred something without the “FiXeD” lugs but personally, I’d wear this thing without issue.
