The Triumph is now due for a refresh, and to send it off with the recognition it deserves, Monta is releasing a limited-edition green dial version that will be limited to just 95 pieces. The unique green dial really drives home the field watch look that the watch aims for and it is surprising that Monta hasn’t done this variation before. In my opinion, you’re getting a lot of watch for $1,700 and I am a big sucker for limited editions. It’s easy to pin this just as a go-anywhere-do-anything watch, which it definitely is, but it has moved beyond that and offers wonderful details anyone can enjoy day after day.
The overall design is unique, and the limited dial goes along with that. It’s not a watch that one would mistake for another, which is great for a model that has lifted Monta from relative obscurity to a darling among many enthusiasts.
Looking to the future for Monta, I truly hope they build upon the success that this original Triumph has brought, and it appears they have all the tools, and tool watches to do so. This limited edition model is quite significant for a young brand, as it takes some guts to move on from a cornerstone piece. Monta has high hopes for their future and if it is as stunning as this limited edition triumph, so do I.

Overall, It’s hard to find a knock on the Triumph other than that they are discontinuing it. Let us all hope that the model refresh brings just as much value and craftmanship as the original. If you’re already a fan of Monta, it’ll be hard to ignore this green dial that hallmarks their achievements over the past six years in an already amazing package of a watch. 95 pieces may not be enough, and it will keep anticipation high for the new edition.
