For some time, I’ve been wondering when Christopher Ward would refresh its line of Trident GMT watches. The brand has been on a roll lately with some incredible new sports watches in a range of sizes and colorways that could work for just about anyone. This refreshed momentum has finally reached the seemingly outdated line GMT divers the brand launched a while back. Today, they’ve announced the Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 GMT in some great new colors and bracelet styles that I’m honestly salivating over.
Classic Size, Modern Design
The Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 GMT is available exclusively in a 40mm case, embodying the latest in light-catcher™ case design. This approach combines fine linear brushing and diamond polishing, resulting in a sleek yet durable finish. The case is only 11.8mm thick, with downturned lugs ensuring a comfortable fit for a variety of wrist sizes. This combination of size and design should make it versatile enough for everyday wear while maintaining a robust presence.
Enhanced Functionality and Aesthetics
One of the standout features of the Pro 300 GMT is its 120-click, bi-directional coin-edge bezel, available with either a lumed ceramic or steel relief insert. This bezel, marked with 24-hour numerals, allows the wearer to track multiple time zones simultaneously—a favorite feature of mine. The threaded crown and bracelet adjustment system just make this an even more practical watch for daily wear, in my eyes.
Legibility and Dial Design
The watch has large, bevelled indexes and the signature Trident handset, both filled with C1 BL Grade X1 Super-Luminova for superior legibility in any lighting condition. I’ve come to appreciate this handset after a while, and it’s nice to see the theme carried on throughout several of the brand’s model families. The dial is balanced by a meticulously applied five-piece twin-flag logo at 12 o’clock and a color-matched date wheel at 6 o’clock, resulting in a clean and cohesive look.
Movement and Customization Options
Powering the new Pro 300 GMT is the reliable Sellita SW330-2 automatic GMT movement, known for its 4Hz beat rate and 56-hour power reserve. The movement is customized with a twin-flags engraved rotor, visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.
Colorways and Pricing
The Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300 GMT is offered in three distinct color combinations: light blue/blue and white/blue with a bi-color ceramic bezel, and turquoise/yellow with a steel relief bezel. Prices range from $1,195 to $1,420 depending on what strap/bracelet you decide on. Personally, I’m going to look into these a bit more. Aside from the C63 Valour that came out a little while ago, these are the Christopher Ward models I’ve been most excited about lately. That white dial model is stunning and the dark blue dial looks perfect for daily wear.
